sure- absolutely correct (except for any US ally right?)or what about the arrogance of stating who can and who cannot make up a peace keeping force, or more importantly, why the World Press failure to criticise the overkill in Lebanon, when so many innocents were killed? Is an Arab death so insignificant . You might also ask why Condoleeza Rice refused to ask for a ceasefire until well into the invasion- the answer to many of these questions is simple (like Bush's strategy for power in the M/East) Bush provided weapons and guided bombs AT THE TIME OF AND AT THE START OF THE INVASION. Even for duplicitous Bush asking for a cease fire whilst simultaneously
arming the Israelis might be more than the Europeans could handle. The solution is simple but difficult:first Israel must return all Palestinian land back to the Palestinians taken in 1967 and as required (and ignored) by the Israelis, second the United Nations must throw away the idea that founder members can have a veto. If we are to struggle so hard to get democracy in the Arab world how about starting with the UN. Here is the root cause of many failed solutions.

You sound like a village idiot from a Syrian village.
The question is very biased.
Why aren't Iran, Jordan, and Syria, the main importers of rockets, arms, and ammunitions to Hezbollah terrrorists, not rebuked by the UN under the terms of the current cease fire?
Answer: because the UN doesn't have a 'presence' beyond 200 British troops, and 200 Third World nation's troops, most of whom are not properly armed to defend themselves, much less a line of demarkation!
What a fiasco the U.N. is!

Israel is an apartheid state, whose survival relies upon on its ability to: a) bully its acquaintances into terrorized submission and b) convince its people who no person is bodily enhanced than them (in any different case they might all bypass returned to Europe and usa the place maximum of them come from in the 1st place) Hezbollah are a democratically elected Lebanese political occasion that got here into existence via armed resistance to the Israeli profession of Southern Lebanon in the 80s. They have been born with the aid of violence (resisting profession), and their impression is magnified of their ability to coach no longer in basic terms Lebanon, however the finished Arab international, that they are able to status as much as the Israeli thug state that colonizes what's meant to be Palestine and nonetheless occupies Syrian and Lebanese territory (Golan and Shebah). upload to this cocktail a top-wing superpower that frustrates maximum UN efforts to attempt and impose any form of sanity (that should bypass against Israeli hobbies) in this doomed area of the international ...... and voila ...... you have the Lebanese-Israeli conflict.

Perhaps because.........
A. Hezb. has not ceased aggressive activity
B. is attemptig to rearm
C. Israel has a right to defend themselves
D. The UN doesnt even have forces on the ground yet and are in complete disaray on who to send
E. Does the UN ever enforce security counsel resolutions? (wait and see what happens with Iran supposedly having to halt uranium enrichment lol)
Solution: Israel is the not enemy, Iran and Syria are for encouraging terrorism and instability in the region. Israel needs to strike Syria, The UN needs to strike Iran (ya right) and the UK needs to strike N Korea. It can be called "Operation Terror Trifecta."

Imagine Canada firing rockets into Ohio. Then we get some 3rd country to make us agree to a cease fire. While the cease fire is in place we see the Canadians rearming with more rockets and stop them. Is that wrong of us? Should we be threatened with sanctions? Imagine if we saw it and did nothing, then the rockets start killing Ohioans again in a few weeks....who would us Ohioans blame? Use your head for something other than a hatrack.

Not really. Iran is threatening other countries and refusing to comply with international proclamations and yet nobody is doing anything about them. The UN is a lame duck when it comes to international law.
As for violating the cease-fire in Lebanon, I think that punishing them for attacking terrorists makes about as much sense as punishing police officers for arresting a sex offender. Both are getting what they deserve.

Israel has not violated the cease fire. the Lebanese government broke the agreement the first day by not requiring Hezbollah to disarm. That was a major part of the agreement-Hezbollah must be disarmed.

Israel is allowed to protect itself.
I have trouble understanding why so many news agencys and people like yourself side with the terrorist group, Hezbola .
They are terrorist!
they are the bad guys
yet people try to make Israel look like the bad guys when the other group plainly states that "we want to make Israel not exist becaise we don't like them"

I read that the violation was in response to the Hezb. violation of bringing in arms from Syria.
