i cant view attachments when opening file from someone in my inbox. the size showed there was attachment. but attachment can only be viewed when i forward the email. what setting is wrong?

preview pane is not enabled (and that's good: previewing ANY attachment is risky at best. attachments in e mail should NEVER be opened. even from a friend! this is the #1 method (source vector) for viruses) i'd leave it as is.
