1. Most Christians didn't decide to become a Christian. They were born into it

2. People usually dont question their culture(belief in god) but they will question their belief.(does ghost exist)

3. If the belief in God is really a belief, you wouldn't have a problem questioning it withour being bias. It must be a culture because you refuse to let it go no matter how sick it sounds

The belief in any god or religion is learned behavior, just like all behaviors. Children are born atheists, and subscribe to whatever religion they are taught. A lucky few manage to think there way out of this nightmare, and then are ostracized by the majority of society. Nevertheless, like most thinkers who are ahead of their time, atheists prefer to live unaccepted by the world than to live a lie.

Nice analysis. The pervasiveness of theism makes it difficult to question the concept. I think your differentiation between belief and enculturation loses something on this site because the people here seem to have a real feeling about the issue. People who don't care, who treat it as simply an element of culture like carpet on the floor or watching "Survivor" are off doing something else. Only the die-hards are likely to come here to promote their views.

Belief, or not, is simply a matter of choice. One's tendency to chose may be influenced by the environment they are raised in or their peers, but the selection of religion, or selection of non-religion, is still a personal choice. Even the non-religous still beleive there is no God. Since they believe in that theory, does that make them a religion? Sounds as if it qualifies. So, everyone, even non-believers, have a faith they believe in, by their choice. The trick is to chose wisely. Personal choice for me is that there is a God. But I also believe God cares more about what you do every day than how you believe, or how many times you say prayers in church. Someday we'll each find out what awaits us, and may we all find what we believe, or not, is there. Choices.

What your trying to say is partly true, people have their belief and religion planted to them by their family and culture.
But i am not one of those, when i was younger, i am fully independent on myself only. After having a family and kids, there i realized, I cannot control everything in my life. After questioning life, its purpose and meaning, Studying about evolution and creationism, based on my personal experience and everyday life.
I came into conclusion, God and Lord Jesus is very much true.
With the precise and perfect order of the human body and the universe, there has to be a creator and a designer, a higher being who knows perfectly how to make his creation into a perfect being.
All human being are experiencing pain and walking wounded. But how we react to them and turn it into a positive experience is up to us.

I guess it depends on who you are. There are many people who were raised in church thinking they are saved , but thats not the case. I was never raised in church and didn't give my life to Christ until I was 18....of my own free will because I could feel Him calling me to worship Him. And I deffinently question my God sometimes, there's nothing wrong with testing the spirit...I'm not sure what else to say except that you are missing out on something great. Hope you'll change your mind one day soon.

You sound very cynical and hard hearted. I feel sorry for you that you think our belief in the Almighty God is sick. Though I am a sinful child, He still loves me and wants me to spend eternity in heaven with Him. He wants you there, too. He loves you and sent His only Son to die for our sins. I pray that your heart will soften toward God before it is too late. May He have mercy on your soul. God bless!

You don't get born into Christianity. You either believe that the Lord Jesus Chris died for your sins or you don't. Many people may say they are Christian but they are not just because their parents say they were.

That is how all religions started. Cultural beliefs. We just have access to them all now and can pretty much do what we want with them.

It is a way of Life

and yes, many lucky Christians WERE born into it......

much as many atheists were born into that "religion", or at least led into it by the people and ways that they surround themselves with.
Much the same both ways...............
