and that He loves both of us equally, yet hold an unswerving belief that the Bible is the infallible Word of God? I've read both old and new testaments numerous times and women received punishment when they commit adultry etc. more often than men. In addition to this King David, hailed to be the greatest king in Biblical history had hundreds of wives as well as concubines! Why wasn't any conviction or punisnment for this documented.? In addition Solomon who had an even greater number of women wrote approximately 1/3 of the book of Proverbs on wayward and adulterous *women*! Why should a woman believe that the Bible was written by God and not chauvanistic men? PS: I was a devout Christian for 12 years and I am *very* familiar with the Bible....

The Bible may seem gender biased at times but do realize it was 40 different authors from many different times, languages, places in history. Some of the rulers of old did have many wives and as you'll notice none of them ever praise God for them or ever express they were happy with them. In fact, Solomon's wives even lead him astray (even though he is the wisest who ever lived) In fact there are many laments about being married or involved with wicked women in order to teach a a few good lessons to us thick men......

A. Women all in themselves dont bring happiness

B. Be extremely careful that you choose someone devoted to the Lord

C. When you do get married, dont ever stray from that committment.

D. There is never any recorded benfit for having multiple women. Thats just a dumb fantasy of men.

God did in fact create both us and create us differently at that! Every generation gets to rediscover the differences between men and women and how to get along and build Godly families!

If you are truly familiar with the bible, I'm puzzled as to why you'd say something like this. Jesus honored women in a time where women were pretty much treated as property. He scolded the Pharisees for divorcing their wives for any and all reasons. He stopped a group of men from stoning an adulteress. He defended a woman who poured perfume over his head when some of his very own disciples griped about it. He complimented a persistent woman who asked for a healing although the disciples turned their backs on her. And most of all....who did Jesus appear to first the morning He had risen from the dead? A woman.

One must read the bible in the context of the days in which it was written. And be glad that we have a savior that was a revolutionary in His time in His kindness and defense of womanhood.

Because he did and it is...If you were a true christian for 12 years then you know that the bible is the word of God. You know that with God there is no respect of persons, they are neither male nor female in God's eyes. And if you were a true christian, then you will not rest until you are on your knees once again asking his forgiveness and feeling his presence in your life. He still loves you and even though I am sounding harsh, I love you too, but it hurts me to see someone that was once a child of God question him now. God Bless You.
