Mom's Favorite:
In saucepan mix well: 1 Tb. cocoa and 2Tb sugar
Add just a little water (maybe 2 Tb) and stir over low heat til it bubbles and the sugar melts.
Slowly add 1 cup of milk. Continue to stir until cocoa is the temperature you like.
This is such a simple recipe, it was the first thing I was allowed to make as a child. Love this on a cold winter's evening topped off with mini marshmallows. Bon Appetite!

My favorite is made with evaporated milk (canned, not the sweetened condensed, however) brown sugar and cocoa.
Mix the can of milk with about 80% of the recommended water. Warm gently in a saucepan on the stove. Ad 1/3 cup cocoa, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1 tsp cinnamon. (Adjust any of these to taste once you've made it.) It should be rich, dark, and not too sweet. Stir well and continue to warm until it's just right.

Warm/Hot milk
Cocoa
Dash of vanilla
Mix them in a mug, and it tastes really great! Whenever I have a sleepover in winter break, we stay up at night drinking hot chocolate and chatting. All my friends love it. People replace milk for water since milk is creamier and tastes better.

I like to use Milk instead of water as it is suggested on some cocoa containers. After mixing cocoa with milk, I heat to a very, very hot (not boiling) temperature in microwave. If you have whipped cream, a dollop on top makes it extra delicious.
