My dream requires a substantial amount of cash which I don't have. So quitting my job to pursue it would be pointless.

I walked out on just a job a few years ago, and have enjoyed life and working for myself to the fullest ever sense. I did have the advantage of owning property that I do make some income on, so that was a factor. I had been debating internally about making some changes in my life and going back to college to complete my masters degree. I made the decision overnight and just ran with it. I have never regretted it at all. My health is improved, my blood pressure is down, I've lost weight and feel ten years younger. Sometimes we just have to learn to listen to that small voice in your head, when you know you need to make a change. Do not let your dreams die, even if you have placed them on the back burner for awhile, pull them forward and enjoy life. You only get to do this once so make it the best life you can live. Have a good night!

I did just that, pursuing more than a dream and finding more than I imagined. But the experience I gained early on in my earlier employment still serves me well.

I quit my job to pursue school (my dream of being a nurse...maybe doctor, eventually). Does that count?

I was stuck in a dead end job with a boss I hated, so I quit and went back to school to become a teacher.

Sometimes it's not about giving everything up, and doing what you feel like doing. It's also about balancing your commitments, and trying to do what needs to be done.
