St. Theresa The Little Flower, Because she did no great things but only loved Christ greatly. I felt she was a more realistic saint for me to strive to follow.

I believe I chose St. Matthew, because he was one of the Apostles who wrote one of the Gospel book in the New Testament. At the time I was not too interested because I was getting a lot of information that was anti-catholic, so it confused me.
The Confirmation name can serve a purpose in a person’s daily life. It can inspire the individual, although to a small degree, to becoming a better Christian and thus, advances him in holiness - the sole purpose to human life.
A properly chosen Confirmation name can be one of many tools used to assist a Christian in attaining this lofty goal by frequently reminding the individual of the virtues that his namesake saint exemplified.
Not only is a saint's name chosen for confirmation, but also when a child is born and is baptised, it is wise to choose a saint's name at that time too. A patron saint acts a special protector and guardian in the life of a child.
I love Saint Maria Goretti ...she is truly a saint who we need for our times.

I chose Saint Maximilian Kolbe. His story was inspiring, but it was more because I liked the name. I guess that's what happens when you get confirmed in 8th grade.
