There is no miracle workout, but I can tell you something. Years ago when I started doing martial arts I got in shape in the first two weeks of practice. The martial arts will make noticeable changes on you without having to get ready for them. Now if you want to throw some good kicks I recommend to run at least two miles daily or ride a bicycle til your legs muscles feel tight. Also, throwing some kicks under water gives you speed and strenght enough for a best start. The martial arts will make the rest by itself. Be ready to swet!!! Good luck!

Don't worry about it. Just learn Jeet Kune Do.
You don't need to worry about being an athlete or be able to do the splits. JKD is practical and realistic. There's no kicking above the waist and no silly uniforms or belts.

Lots of elbows, knees, eye poking, shots to the throat and other things that WORK.
No stupid spinning back kicks to the head or yelling KIAAAAAAAAA everytime you strike.

I recomend stretching, if you are just starting.
Thats the most important, Sit on the floor stretch your legs, start trying to do the splits.Strech for 30 minutes 2 x a day.
The farther you can stretch the higher you can kick in martial arts

enroll in a muay thai class. my bro did, they work your a$$ off. this should be sufficient. dont exercise too much because you might injure yourself making you worthless in 10 days. if your body is not used to it and you get in an intense program, you WILL get injured. thats why in fairtex muay thai classes they go by levels. not belts but for how long you been there, making sure your body can take it.
