I am not from Pennsylvania, so I am not familiar with Pennsylvania law, but if you are defending your life it is normally legal to use any means necessary.

i imagine that you could but if you use it on someone outside your home rubber or not you might be in trouble. and those rubber bullets can be lethal at close range like in a hallway so i would imagine that you might as well use real shot if your thinking home defense. if you are thinking of in the car self defense your in a whole nother ball game. no loaded guns in cars as far as i know and brandishing one or holding it in a menacing manner is illegal. so maybe you need to rethink what you want to protect and then start simple and work up from there.

its probably legal to use lethal steel shot in shotguns for self defense in Pa.

None. If I need a firearm that means someone is coming at me with lethal force,you only fight lethal force with lethal force. So,00 Buckshot for the first four rounds then a rifled slug for the last round.

I'm not sure about the legality but they aren't always non lethal so be careful... they can kill someone if you get the right angle, distance and velocity combination

If it is legal it still won't protect you from a civil suit from the person you shoot.
