There should be a number on the package of heart worm medicine. Call that number and ask for assistance from the manufacturer. In addition to that call your vet and ask them if the dog should be seen.

Go to the maker of the heart worm medicine's website. Look for a way to contact them via phone or email. Call your vet ASAP. If immediate assistance is not avaliable, I would look in the phone book for an 24 hour emergency vet and call them and ask for advice. Good luck!

No, she will be fine... the dose of ivermectin contained in heatworm medicine is incredibly low... depending on the brand, it may cause diarrhea if she ate a lot of it (many forms of heatworm prevention contain other chemicals to treat intestinal worms as well as the ivermectin to treat for heatworms.)

3 doses is in no way dangerous if she has had that product before, the only possible complication would be an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients.

If this is Heartgard she took, it is relatively safe...even in an overdose. However, regardless of what she took an overdose of, you should call the vet right away and ask them. Vets don't charge you for a phone call...it never hurts to call and ask their advice. If your vet's not available, call the nearest emergency clinic. There is also a good chance she ingested some of the packaging...that would be dangerous.

My sisters dog ate all 6 doses of his Heartguard! She called the vet and he stated that it was fine, he might get some diarrhea or an upset stomach but he will be ok. My sisters dog didn't get sick at all. Call your vet for reassurance.

omg! take it to a vet, chances are she took a mega overdose, she might have to have the medicine removed but it will help her health.
