It could be bad from both angles. From my understanding it is worse to suppress your anger then to let it out. Suppressing anger can only lead to health problems like stress, ulcers, heart attack, stroke. But if you let it out in the wrong way, you could hurt someone else or yourself. To releave negative energy try some type of exercise. Running, Boxing, aerobics, swimming, etc. Or if you feel you have anger management issues, please seek some type of professional help, it could only do good.

Native wisdom, The Way of the Warrior, teaches that we
are not allowed to express honest emotion. Anger is an honest
emotion. An ability to get excess spiritual energy out so it
doesn't hurt the body. But we are told, "You can't act like that!"
Then we hold it in, and it eats us up inside. And we finally blow up over some small, petty matter.
Of course, we don't want to release our anger negatively. If
you have heard it said. If you get angry. Take a deep breath.
That's wrong. That only brings more energy into the body.
You need to breath in, and blow it out.

If you feel anger I think you should express it to someone. You don't necessarily have to take out the anger on the one who angered you, especially if it's someone you don't trust. But you need to tell a friend, or wife, or girlfriend that someone upset you and how you feel and let them help you through it.

anger will store a negative energy in the liver. It will feed negative energy into the heart, causing the negative energies there of impatience, hate, and cruelty. This will bring on many health problems including a heart attack eventually. But much worse, it will kill your heart and turn your soul body into a horrible, bent, deformed monster. This is the body you will be stuck in for several thousand years after you die. For more info, read, books by Mantak Chia. This is taoist but does not conflict with Christianity at all. email me with ?'s if you want. Don't be angry or hate. It's not worth it.

Depression is anger turned inwards. If you choose not to express your anger PROPERLY, it can cause some health problems, like ulcer, manic depression, fatigue, etc. A great thing you can do for yourself is to lean how to express what is upsetting you properly, it will help.

Only if you buy into ego centrism is the non-expression of anger a problem. Practicing patience, compassion, forgiveness, unconditional love not only engenders good mental health but, in the long run, excellent quality of life.

Think of anger as a pot of boiling water on the stove...if you don't lift the lid (to release some of the build up) it will boil over.
Anger causes a lot of stress both physically & mentally...exercise, sleep, hobbies...are all ways to manage it.
Communication also helps...simply talking to someone about it.

You should never keep anger in, but instead express it in an appropriate manner. To keep it in is definitely not good for your Blood pressure.

Pretty darned bad; holding things inside will eat you alive. But don't go overboard or you'll get caught up in the explosion yourself. Try to explain that you are angry, and why you're angry, in a reasonable tone. You'll get much better results. If you blow up, you immediately put the other person on the defensive and they hear nothing you say.

It can be a bit bad, I am not sure how much.
But either let it out, forget it, or forgive for it which would be the best answer.
It is bad to express it in a harmful way.
