of course you pray for your leaders. - world leaders included. There are many "Hitlers" in power right now. Pray for them, but not for success and prosperity ... for if they are morally and ethically unfit for leadership, the Lord will orchestrate his will for their lives (witness the death of Hitler in the end). Instead, pray for discernment and a willingness for them to submit (the good leaders are the ones who SERVE the people, not the ones who CONQUER the people.)

Maybe you should think about you question. In countries with leaders like Hitler, you aren't allowed to pray for anyone. Even though you are trying to make a point the republicans are terrible remember that both parties, although having differences strive to keep America free to voice your opinion. That said, I respect your right to ask your question, but I also have the right to call you an Idiot.

Hitler certainly needed multitudes of people praying for him to change his sick, evil ways. We should pray for our enemies, no matter what political party we are affiliated with. And we should pray for our leaders whether we think they are doing a good job or not. We need to pray that they will make wise decisions for the safety and well-being of their people. And I do practice what I preach. You assume too much!

I don't know that it is only a Republican issue to pray for those in charge of your country. Hitler certainly needed a great heal of praying for. You may wish to consider if he may have been a different person had enough people prayed for him. With that said you may also be happy to know that most Christians and some Republicans would pray for a "Hitler" all of the way to the gallows that he deserved for his actions.

Hitler was more in need of prayer than every man on earth. Of course the Christians of his time should have prayed for him. They should have prayed for him to develop an understanding and acceptance of those different than himself. They should have prayed for the Lord to soften his heart and help him make more humane decisions in his life. They should have prayed for him to seek Jesus.

Praying for someone doesn't have to entail praying for their success in killing millions of Jews. They could have prayed that God would open his eyes to the atrocities he was committing and to turn from his brutal conquest.
By the way, God's word doesn't say that serving the Lord would be easy, just that He would never leave you nor forsake you in the journey.

Who says to pray for your leader? I do what I saw one ought to do. It's you who is brushing all christians with the same brush.
And, by the way, if hitler came alive and asked for forgivness, I'd forgive and forget.

I think when they say pray for your leaders they mean pray for them and Bush. They would much rather a few of the leaders of the world ( like Iraq) would just self destruct. strangly enough I wish the same for some of them ( Including Bush who I believe is the worst thing to ever happen to the United States )

Its so weird, I bet churches in Nazi Germany had lots of prayers for Hitler and their leadership and that their army would be successful in crushing France and Russia and England and America. Stalin even opened up the Russian churches during the war so the Russians could pray for victory. If there is a God, I wonder if he bothers to listen to any of it. Why would He?

If you believe that's what they say and you believe that also and Hitler is your leader then I guess the oblivious answer is yes.
Frankly I don't see the connection. But when I just consider the source of the question it really doesn't matter.
