Where would the US lose more money, the deportation of ALL the illegal immigrants or making smoking illegal?

Well, they won't make it illegal.. Sorry-- I smoke-- and I kind of wish they would make it illegal, so I'd stop...

But, probably deportation-- but that's not gonna happen either. U.S. is just screwed till the next election. God oh God, I hope somebody with a brian that will serve this country and their citizens is elected!

I'm tired of this country catering to foriegners first, before it's own people. This country is going to **** a brick the size of itself if its not controlled in the next few years... And these first months are just the beginning....

If we did deport, we'd save billions or ...actually trillions in the long run.

And keeping them here, will just hurt us more-- on top of that skyrocket the deficit...God, please help this country!

Making smoking illegal. Unfortunately if we made the illegals leave that would mean more tax paying jobs, and less people getting money and not paying taxes. Wow, what a concept. And it also means that the "civil benefits" would go to actual citizens, and not to foreign nationals.

Personally, I think that anyone who sneaks into the USA to have a child jsut so that they can be here should be told that the kid is a national of the parents country.

Deporting immigrants is more costly. All the manpower and resources that it would take, not to mention the fact that the US is dependent on cheap labor, would make it far more costly. Making smoking illegal would sorta take care of itself, because the loss of tobacco money would be offset by healthcare savings.

BTW, not all undocumented immigrants are from Mexico, stereotypical morons...

You know I still haven't figured out why it cost so much to send immigrants back. Put them on a broke down old bus drive over the border and kick them out! Now that wouldn't cost that much.

all immigrants would cost a lot more. But that won't happen Big Business need those workers in the future.

Yes, to put you out of a job.

the majority would have already done it if there wasn't a reelection this year.

well, since the US businesses make a ton a money hiring cheap illegal labourers, and the government makes a ton of money on cigarette taxes....it's difficult to say.

uhh... probabaly banning smoking. its hard to tell. thats a LOT of data that needs to be collected. i mean, transporting millions of people back to mexico or wherever or stopping several hundred million packs of cigarettes being bought per day. Good question!
