Listen your male is trying to tell the female he is dominant and all you need to do is do what the female dogs do to become dominant. My 5month old lab tries to show her dominance by putting her lower body(male's head betwwen her legs and sitting on him) it is funny but you need to put him on the floor in a lay position and put your hand half way around his neck pushing down. Not hurting him, Tell him, "I'm Dominant!!" Listen they will listen!!! Just try these teqniques and hopefully they will work!

okay, one of two things is going on. 1) because you have one of each sex, the male is trying to enforce his dominance over her even though she is still ver young. This isn't all that bad because it really doesnt do anything bad but establish a heirarchy. 2) this is the bad one, because you female is 5 months old, she may have started her first heat cycle. The first cycle for female dogs usually starts somewhere between 5-8 months depending on the dog NOT the breed. If your male dog is not neutered, keep them apart for the next 3-4 weeks or until the end of her cycle. It is VERY important that she not get pregnant for at the very least another year or better, two years.

It's a dominance thing. The older dog is showing the puppy who's the boss dog. It doesn't hurt to have the pecking order established. Although it's maybe a little embarrassing, keep in mind that it's not about sex, it's about dominance.

If your male dog isn't neutered, he may be coming into his sexual maturity. And some females can go into heat as early as 5 months.
One solution is to spay the female and neuter the male, that would certainly take of any accidents.
If your male dog is one that humps everything anyway, only your discipline will stop him from such annoying behavior.

You did not say if the dogs were either male or female or of the same sex. Humping is a natural action, each time you observe this behaviour just correct the offending dog. Remember you have to be consistent.

First of all, get your puppy spayed and the adult neutered (if he's not already). If the male is not neutered, you're going to have a handful of trouble soon. Assuming she has not gone into heat yet, this is likely a dominance issue. Talk to a trainer or behaviorist, or get a book or video on dog training that discusses dominance issues.

The older dog is trying to establish dominance over the new pup. It is normal and they are going to hvae to establish pack order.
If the older dog is not neutered get it done and that may curb some of it.

Is the other dog neutered? If not, maybe she is in heat and he smells it. Usually, dogs hump each other as a way of playing and there isn't any sexual connotations to it. Just nudge him away and tell him to stop.
