I would like spike my fruitbars :)
however, i just fully understood by trial and error that even if you try to refreze alcohol mixed with other contents it just won't freeze solid again.

so, we enden up having spiked smoothies after all was said and done.............and laughed at!

However, I know that it can be done and it must be done. Just think of what a great sunny-bbq-summer-day treat it would end up being!

any advice to this major dilemma?

The foodnetwork.com states liquor will freeze when mixed
with water, or a soluble liquid.

check it out. I have never tried it.

good luck

I am a bartender, but this is coming from more personal experience...

I don't know if this is something you might be interested in...but if you cut a watermelon in half and pour some alcohol in it like it's a bowl and let it soak into the watermelon, it is mighty good : )

For me, the best is just either using a good bottle of Vodka (like Grey Goose), or doing a mixture of a lot of different alcohols that you like (like a long island-Vodka, Rum, Tequila, Triple Sec, and Gin--or instead of Gin, I suggest Midori).

Additional suggestions:
-make sure you store the watermelon in the fridge so it is nice and cold when ready to eat
-don't be afraid to use a lot of alcohol (I use one full bottle of Grey Goose)

Sweetie, normal freezers can't freeze alcohol. I don't know where or how you"know it can be done" but you would have to have a freezer capeable of minus 30 to 50 F or so. Most commercial and household types are barely able to reach zero. So the answer is a $5-10,000 freezer or learn to like smoothies.
