Would you ever get over it, or would it stay on your mind always? Do you know anyone who has gotten over this type of thing and how?

You can forgive...but don't allow yourself to be put in the position again. And, always go with your gut, sometimes your heart isn't strong enough to get out.

With counseling I believe someone could. I think the issue that actually caused the cheating needs to be faced and dealt with completely before healing can begin. I hope that you are not going through this as it must be so painful. I do think that forgiving but not forgetting is possible although I couldn't forgive. I live giving complete loyalty and couldn't be with someone who was unloyal enough to me to cheat on me.

You can forgive them but it's going to be almost impossible to trust them like you did before and that's going to become an issue.

I would never forgive them. Once a cheat, always a cheat.
