There are actually three versions of the Ten Commandments, Jewish, Catholic (and Lutheran), and Protestant taken from Exodus Chapter 20:1-17 and Deuteronomy Chapter 5:6-21.
With the new revelations of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit in the early Catholic Church, a slightly different emphasis was placed on different commandments.
Then 1500 years later, the Protestant in objecting to certain Catholic practices, once again changed the emphasis of the Ten Commandments.
+ Jewish Ten Commandments (before 1000 BC)

5. Honor you mother and father.
6. You shall not murder.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not bear false witness.
10. You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor.

Don't make a carved image or a form like anything in the sky, land or sea. in order to worship it or give it devotion.
Don't take up gods name in a worthless way.. Like pay attention to what he says.
Don't kill people, lie, steal, or commit adultery.
Be content with what you have, don't be wanting everything you see.
Oh honor your mother and father, that meant more than be nice.
In those days they didn't have social security and you have to support them and take care of them, No nursing homes there.

Of course I can - don't be silly. They are written in Exodus 20. Do I really need to name them for you? You could read them for yourself, ya know. Do you know the command Jesus added? In John 13:34, Jesus said, "I give you a new command: Love each other. You must love each other as I have loved you."

Are you one of those people who want the 10 Commandments posted in every government office building?
Yes, I know the 10 Commandments. I was in a cult as a child and I had to learn them (among other Bible verses.) I never found the set particularly useful and I'm not going to lay them out here.
There are 2 laws: Love God and Love your neighbor as yourself. Those work just fine for me.

come on thats too easy. but really do you know that the commandements were written 1500 yrs before moses by the summerians. in summerian texts. also the commandements do not have any penalty attached to them? they should be called the ten suggestions on how one should lead their life. most christians do not even follow them anyway. One of them is keep holy the sabath. the sabath has allways been saturday. It was changed by constantine in 321 ad in a document called the venerable day of the sun.(can be looked up on the web) most christians think sunday is their day. they argue that because they believe sunday jesus rose from the grave. also voted on in the councel of nicea in 324 ad. in reality jesus was taken off the cross on wednsday. the bible says that he was taken down before passover and since passover is allways on thursday the truth is revealed. alot of what christianity believes to be true was dictated by the romans in the third century. my view is if it makes them happy good. you dont have to believe in the truth to be happy.. just believe i guess
