Curry is an Indian spice used in food preparation. There are multiple types of curry-red and green that I am positive of. The more curry that you add to a dish, the spicier it will be.

The word Curry can reference either a powder made from a mixture of different spices, a richly spiced sauce added to foods, or a food dish with a variety of ingredients mixed with a curry sauce, since the term "curry" applies to all.
Curry Powder is a blend of strongly flavored spices popular in Eastern Indian cooking that are ground into a finely powdered substance. A basic curry powder blend may consist of an assortment of spices such as cinnamon, cumin, chiles, cloves, ginger, turmeric, coriander, and pepper.

it is a mixture of spices... most have cumin, turmeric, coriander, pepper, cardamom, ginger, etc - this is the indian curry powder i believe you speak of...
in thailand, a curry is a "sauce" that usually accompanies white rice... these are where you would see red curry and green curry, which are pastes that are made with fresh ingredients including chilis which are mashed to a pulp, then simmered in coconut milk etc... in tis case, if the chilis used are spicy, the curry will be spicy

It is certainly a very unique flavor, but I don't think it's spicy, like as in it will burn your tongue. That's cayenne and red pepper flakes that usually do that. There's a various mixture of spices that make up curry....
