Given the recent development of the word, and its primary use in written form only, there is no single accepted pronunciation of pwn. Therefore, pronunciation is mainly based on personal preference. Some of the common variations include (IPA pronunciation) [oʊn], [pəʔˈoʊn], [piˈoʊn], [pən], [pwin], [pun], or, most commonly [poʊn] or pawn, as rhymed with the original own; ([oʊn]). It can also be pronounced phonetically, as [pwəʔˈn̩] (pwən).

Its a term used mainly by gamers who are victorious over others. Its like rubbing in the victory and is seen as a step above "owned"

"Pwn" is pronounced "own" and it simply means to own. In other words, lets say you're playing someone in something and they beat you easily. Therefore, they "pwned" you. I think it's more of a video game term, but I wouldn't quote me on that.

pwn means own, just a weird way of saying it.

It's like potato and potata, you can pronounce it either way. It's not ment for saying anyway, it's ment for typing. A nonverbal if you know what I mean?

pwn means own and it's pronounced like pone. Exactly the way you saw own except with a p sound in front. "I pwn you"

your right, its pronounced pown.
and it means own, like "i just owned you on that game". It all started when some guy pronouned own wrong in Counterstrike, because when you type own, the p is next to the o.
