OMG ---My son has been doing the same thing ---I called my Pediatrician and he assured me it was normal! He is 7 now and he doesn't do it as much. I made my hubby talk to him about appropriateness of doing this.

Childern love to explore. It is normal, I have a almost 8 year old daughter and last year I was called into school for a teacher/parent meeting. While talking about her grades the school nurse cae in and told me my daughter had been caught at school touching herself. Man I was really upset. I did not think it was normal, but what happensis our kids explore their bodys and when they find something that is fun or feels good, they want to do it all the time. in my daughters case, it soothes her, if she getts upset, she will go to her room and do her thing.

This is another example of those damn liberals at work. You need to tell your son that God will send a big wolf to devour him if he contines to do that. Pray, and send at least 25% of your earnings to Pat Robertson or some other deserving Saint. Give more money to the Republican party too. If we get enough judges on the Supreme Court, we can do what the lovely Ann Coulter wants, and execute all the liberals.

As uncomfortable of a subject as it is, this is completly normal! He is curious. Trying talking with him about his body and explaining why things are there, not in too much detail though. And dont worry he will grow out of this habit.

It is normal, don't worry about it. If he does it while company is over, you might suggest he go to his room if he wants to explore. Don't make a big deal about it or he could get some major hangups about it later... just guide him into what is socially acceptable to do in company and in private.

it is normal, he just discovered something is happening down there when he touches it. Just explain to him that when he feels like doing it, he has to do it in his room and that it's a very private thing to do.

This is absolutely, completely normal. Your child is leaning about the body he inhabits - it will only become a problem and an issue if you, as the parent and adult, make it one. So don't.
