If its a LONG distance run then something like a protein shake is the best thing. Not so filling and you get a good amount of calories. If thats not an option then eat anything light. Just stay away from dairy. Mainly milk. They tend to cramp you up.

if your planing to loose weight dont listen to the carb people eat 2 scrambled eggs made on water water used instead of butter and eat an orange if you eat too much before you run it will hurt your ribs so take my advice for it. dont eat pasta or bread or penut butter coke or candy if you are doing this to loose weight because all those things stuff you up and even running a marathon might not help get em out, if your just doing it for fun then go for those foods

Eat a balanced breakfast. Grape Nuts give you a lot of energy... don't forget the orange juice, and a toast with peanut butter for protein.

Pasta the night before (early in the evening), perhaps something like Fettucini or Spaghetti. Then on the morning of the run, something like a banana or two with some OJ.

i just went running this morning for about 35 out and 35 in, you should eat some thing with carbs, because you will ned the energy for running after work out eat some proteins and some fat.

Soy milk for easy to digest protein, orange juice for ready carbs, whole wheat toast for complex carbs, a good multivit, and lactobacillus acidophius tablets to put beneficial bacteria in your upper GI tract to aid digestion and prevent gas. If you want bacon for a little fat, blot it.

because breakfast is the most important meal of the day and besides you should eat before you run because you will burn more calories that way

Healthy food, such as granola bar, multi-grain cereal or bread, lots of fluid, but I don't think drinking cola is good. You get more tired. You want energy stored in your body for later when you get tired.
