Why does the scale say the same thing?

weight alone is not a good measure - if you lost fat and gained lean muscle. Muscle is heavier than fat, you might be healthier and fitter, but still weigh the same or even more. Get a pair of calipers or scales that can determine body fat.

It is because you are replacing fat with muscle. Muscle weighs a lot more than fat...I think it is supposed to be 2 or 3 times heavier. Your true test of losing "weight" is if your "fat clothes" are fitting better. As long as you are seeing your body slim down, you are doing good. You may even experience weight gain instead of loss. However, as long as you are eating lot's of healthy foods and exercising (weightlifting and cardio) everyday, you are doing yourself a favor. I advise not weighing yourself everyday...try more like once or twice a month. When you don't lose weight it can bring you down and make you feel like you've made no progress when you really have. And, trust me, after weeks of dieting you don't want to ruin your progress with one day of having to cure depression with cookies and milk.

Because muscle weighs more than fat. It's a good thing. It means you have been replacing your fat with muscle. If your clothing is fitting better you are for sure shedding fat. Good job! If you really want to check it buy an electronic body fat measurer(Amazon.com) and you can watch your body fat % go down!

As you begin to lose weight, and tone up, your losing fat, but gaining muscle. Muscle actually weighs more then fat, so at first you will actually gain weight as you lose inches. It won't last for long though, since you said your weight is about the same, then you should start actually losing the weight soon.

You've probably reached what is known as a "plateau" in weight loss. Just hang in there and you should see the pounds start to drop soon. Good luck.
