Rarely, but female spider bites warrant prompt medical attention. Solid information at the site below.

If a black widow spider bites a person, do not panic! No one in the United States has died from a black widow spider bite in over 10 years. Very often the black widow will not inject any venom into the bite and no serious symptoms develop. Wash the wound well with soap and water to help prevent infection.

If muscle cramps develop, take the patient to the nearest hospital. Some victims, especially young children, may be admitted overnight for observation and treatment. There is treatment for a black widow spider bite that can take care of the symptoms. Various medications are used to treat the muscle cramps, spasms and pain of a bite. Black widow spider antivenin is seldom necessary.

I hope this helps. Good luck with getting rid of them!!

Latrotoxin is injected into the black widow's victim through its fangs. It targets the motor and sensory neurons and stimulates the release of neurotransmitters from nerve endings. Some of these neurotransmitters are acetylcholine, glutamate and aminobutyric acid (Ushkaryov, 2002).

The bite of a black widow is not painful at first, and feels like a pin prick. Within minutes of the attack, though, the pain becomes more and more intense. The pain and swelling spread throughout the body, and are accompanied by nausea, lymph node pain, loss of coordination, sweating, elevated blood pressure and respiratory difficulty. The bite can be fatal, but recovery usually occurs within 2 to 5 days

Yes hence the name black widow. Always check your bedsheets, shoes, and anywhere you are going to sit down or lie down on just in case. I would be wearing high boots just in case. Call an exterminator as soon as possible. They will also probably give you some good tips how to make sure they don't come back.

Yes, but it's very rare for someone to die if medical help is gotten quickly. Even with today's anti-venoms and stuff, it's still a extremely painful bite! I would really get rid of those suckers.

They can be. At the least, they are very painful and are one of the few spiders that bite just for the fun of it. Invest in RAID and bug bomb the heck out of your house to chase them out, then raid the outside to keep them away.

They can be fatal, but not usually. They can hurt, and make it swell so badly where they bite. I think they can be fatal to little kids, and babies. Why so many around your house ???? That gives me the creeps. Good luck to you ~

They can be fatal to the very young, very old or other people who don't have a strong immune system. You should try to get rid of them, however, if you happened to get bit you wouldn't die if you are a normally healthy person. It wouldn't feel good, though.

They can be, but probably not unless you live 2 hours from a hospital, or are already weak or sick.
They will make you very sick in any case, I'd definitely get them cleared out of your house if I were you

There not always fatal but there is no antidote for them either. You should see a doctor if your bitten they can tell you how to treat it. Best bet though is to fumigate your house.
