I take a nice warm bath or apply cold cloth to my forehead and back of my neck. It helps when I am doing it, but once I have to get out of the bath/take the cold cloth off my forehead, the tension headache starts again. Are there any other remedies you could recommend? thank you =)

Try a tea blend of lavender, chammomile and lemon balm. (you can also add a little catmint to it.) Place a cool cloth over your eyes and sniff some lavender oil. You might try adding the oil to the side of the cool rag that is away from your eyes. Turn off the lights. The cool rag and aromatherapy will help with immediate relief, the tea will help relieve the tension that is causing it a bit more thoroughly.

Head ache has many reasons and all head aches cannot be cured immediately. If you have cold then the head will be persisting and will not be easy to cure it. You can have only temporary relief. For All headaches I take aspirin or paracetamol for immediate relief. If I could avoid it then I do the following. Going for a short walk in the busy street. Doing neck exercises. Apply balms and rub vigorously on the affected areas. Heat the sides of head by keeping a hot cloth. The cloth is heated by iron box, or even by a hot utensil kept over the stove. The same treatment can be carried out by washing the face and neck with hot water.. You will feel fresh and head ache gone. Try any of these methods.

There are many answers to this question.

You can try:

1) Drinking something with caffeine in it, if you are prone to get headaches after not having "morning coffee"

2) Getting some fresh air

3) Making sure you've had enough protein

4) Doing a meditation where you breathe in all of your energy (things that make you happy) and breathe out all of others' energy (things that don't make you happy)

5) Stretching out your back, arms, shoulders, and legs

Take care!

After your bath, try drinking a relaxing cup of Tension Tamer tea (it's made by Celestial Seasonings). Or you could try a cup of chamomile tea. Lavender essential oils also are good for relieving tension.

I find I need to lie down in a dark place with my eyes closed and relax for at least 20 minutes.

FIRST TRY TYLENOL OR IBUPROFEN. IF THAT DOESN'T WORK, GO TO YOUR DOC AND ASK FOR VALPROIC ACID (AN ANTI-CONVULSANT) OR A BETA-BLOCKER OR AN ANTI-DEPRESSANT. RESEARCH HAS BEEN DONE AND BOTOX WAS SHOWN TO WORK, IF NONE OF THESE REMEDIES WORK.

accupressure! first get some one to put their hands, palms against your head over your temples, squeeze gently but firmly for 30 seconds, then one hand on forehead and one on the back of your head, squeeze 30 seconds again, then put their fingertips at the base of your skull and push up while you lean back into their fingers, this will relieve tension i promise ! it works for me!
