Go to jokes.com and comedycentral.com. But knowing jokes isn't the only thing to comedy, you gotta have a quick wit and say the right thing at the right time. There are even teachers for this! I don't know where exactly you can get one, but you can find out if you search it on google or call 411. Good Luck!!

Depends on what kind of comic you are. I would be considered a "dark comic", so to get inspired to write new material I would listen to Bill Hicks or George Carlin. Also, delivery on a joke is EVERYTHING. If you rush it or go too slow, you'll f*ck it all up. So listen to some comics that you feel have the same sense of humor as you, and use them for inspiration. Listen to the way they speak, how fast they go, and any sort of changes in their tone.

It's all about timing. The same joke can be said many different ways depending on how the audience is responding.
A drunk, raucous audience will respond differently and to different jokes than a quite, nightclub setting. But, don't ever let the audience know that you are 'milking' them for a response. That is the surest way to get booed off the stage.
Also, have friends or siblings help you with quick responses to a heckler. They are always there, and your dealing with it well will always get you points.

Point out stupidity. That's usually funny. Oh, and you should watch Jim Gaffigan-Beyond The Pale. Hilarious!!!

I dont know about any books, but you either get up there and start laughing really hard, or say something incredibly stupid...
I know, trust me.

It's about timing.
It's about current events.
