They can quote by heart the statute that allows any child born to foreign parents US soil to be declared a US citizen, but choose to willfully defy our immigration laws, refuse to pay their fair share of taxes, and drive unregistered vehicles without a valid license or auto insurance. That's not even mentioning the theft of Social Security numbers and driver's license info.
The law is the LAW, its not a menu where you pick "one from column A and one from column B".
How can these hypocrites expect protection under a legal system that they openly mock, undermine, and abuse?
Okay, this is the part where you call me a racist(?!?), and remind me once again how the Anglos stole the land from the Native Americans, which makes it "rightfully yours". Yeah, the lower 48 was the heart of Aztec, Inca, and Mayan civilization, wasn't it? One more thing: If you insist on calling me an ignorant redneck cracker, please make sure you spell it right.

Great points!

BUT, you must realize that lawbreakers and narcissists use whatever arguments that work for them. They are the center of their universe and no one else counts...except to pay their way. They need us for our money, our brains, our ambition, but for little else.

Can you spell VULTURE! Illegals are worse than leeches ...they are vultures and we must not tolerate this anymore.

IF you ARE a redneck, be PROUD.....rednecks will preserve our nation when all the wusses and wimps are on their knees crying for help.....

Good overall point. It basically boils down to three problems.

First, the legal system is incredible complex, with millions of pages of state and federal laws and regulations. Even lawyers or police or judges can keep only a fraction of that in their heads.

And most people with no legal training don't understand the complex intersections of laws, so they cling to the bits that they do understand as a defense against the complexity.

Second, given the way the legal system works, one good line of law is all you often need. When the government tries to do something, if you have the correct single line of law on your side, that might be enough. So again, especially since the law is complex, many people cling to what they know hoping it will be enough.

Finally, look at the message that they're getting from examples being set. Elected officials break the law with near impunity, clinging to thin procedural defenses (like the one you referenced) as a defense. And that's Governors and Senators and Congressfolk.

We also have a president that not only willfully breaks the law, but says that it's OK to break the law when there is a good enough reason. To many of these people, their lives and their families are on the line. That's got to seem like a good reason to them.

So, while I completely agree with your position, the behaviors at issue are really no different than what so many other people do, including high-ranking elected officials.

Justice ala Carte? I was thinking more of selective memory/recall.

I am in agreement with what you are saying. I don't think anyone here can call you racist, when there are those here that use things much worse. It is obvious that you are not intending to be a racist. But that won't stop those that are pro illegals to say it. Don't you know? That is the basis of their entire argument.

I love you Bucky. I only have one problem with you. You are not on here enough. We need your good sense and your awesome sense of humor.

You are right again. We, the citizens, do not choose which laws to ignore and which to obey. Certainly illegals should not be allowed to do that. You are not a racist. You are a good person. To them, anyone who wants ALL of our laws upheld, not just some of them, is a racist.

I will not call you a racist but I will state again that even homeland security does not appear to agree with all the laws they do not enforce them and even at least here they turn a blind eye to the many here in Texas illegally.I've seen them down on the pier come through periodically and purposely speak to the captain of the boat and avoid the workers.

Because democrats and moderate, read spineless, republicans believe they will be a deciding voting block... even though there are not that many AND they do not have the right to vote... but the democrats are working on this.

The only place illegal immigrants should be able to stay in America is prison.

I been wondering why too. Why do the pro illegal have an excuse for every question, it's always someone elses fault.
