My dog went into her first heat on May 28, 2006. The possibility of a male mating with her is almost impossible. Assuming optiminal fertilization time of 10 days and gestation of 64 days, that brings us to August 10, 2006. Her nipples are now swollen and producing a small amount of milk. She abdomen looks normal. Has anyone ever heard of a female dog producing milk and never being pregnant?

Yes. Its called a phantom pregnancy. You can get medication from your vet to stop her lactating.

Yes. Do you have other animals. If so, that may be why shes producing.

Yes. It happens often. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just make sure that she dries up well. You don't want her to get manstitice. I really wouldn't worry though

it could be possible if u see something really wrong going on then just go to the vet or call them and ask

yes its called false pregnancy. check with your vet but i believe it is normal in the first cycle.

yes, lots of animals can have phantom pregnancies.
