My daughter had red highlights as an experiment at that age. They were harmless and she enjoyed them.

These days even ten year olds are concerned about how they look. I think if the parents do not mind it, then a ten year old can have highlights.

Keep young hair young. Don't fry it before youre fifteen, by 25 you'll be wishing you had your hair as it was at 10... Besides coloring hair just leads to a viscious cycle of changing and processing hair with chemicals. If you really want to give a 10 year old highlights use lemon and let her play in the sun for the afternoon. that'll do it naturally.

Allowed by whom? There's no law covering highlighting. But if you're asking if she SHOULD be allowed, I'd say no. At ten a girl shouldn't be so concerned about her appearance.

I think this all depends on her parents and what rules they have implemented. I personally think it is a little to young and a waste of money. 10 year old girls should be playing with dolls and Barbie's, not worrying about highlights. As a salon owner most salons will do anyone's hair...it's money!!!

I started with small natural highlights when I was around 9. I think it's pretty harmless, it might even boost her confidence a little.

When my girl was 9 she had highlights put in her hair. If your mom and dad don't care, you can have pink hair if you want.

allowed? well that depends on whether the parents allow it themselves. i had my whole head dyed when i was 11, so if you want highlights just kindly ask your parents if they let you or not

why would the parent want their child to look older and fall faster into the category of cosmo girl apprentice, come on now, she will only have an eating disorder sooner and be superficial if you start her off this young.
