ok i really like this guy...?

Question

how can i tell if he likes me back? we've only really talked like....3 times...but he has been there for me when i do need him... how can i tell if he likes me back? i know he glances at me a lot during marching band......but that could also be because he got outta step and is using me as a reference...i dont want to ask him if he likes me because we just met on friday...how can i tell? that way if i do end up asking him out....[hopefully he'll do the asking] that way i dont look like an idiot because he doesnt like me back or if he has a girlfriend already... [were both in highschool... im a freshman and hes a junior]

hes not really IN the BAND...hes the main guard....[one of the dudes up front holding the flags and banners] and band started like 2 weeks ago so he would know that i already know all that stuff. haha

How can you tell? You can't. I once drove a woman to insanity once because she heard a rumor that I had the hots for her (and I did) but in person, she still had doubts because of how normal I acted around her.

Us guys are wimps when it comes to being rejected. So wimpy, that, we often will stubbornly wait in order to gather sufficient evidence to be assured that you (the female) are even aware of what our (the male) name is.

There are some little hints though. I'm currently attracted to a female and here are some hints I've given to show to her that I am attracted to her:

1. In a crowd of 20 people, my eyes always see her eyes first.
2. Whenever I'm in a one on one with her, I feel obliged not to start the conversation first, but one she says something to me, I give her very deep and intimate eye contact. I'm so attracted to her, that I often find myself looking at the most unusual details about her. once we were talking and as she talked, I found myself looking at how her tongue was touching the back of her teeth as she spoke to me.
3. A real strong sign is that the conversation always ends without resolution as if there was more to be said but then something happened to end the conversation like you went to your class or the guy had to turn a different direction.
4. I always act a tad more seriously because I do not want to come off as just that nice, funny guy. So there is a certain stern-ness in my behavior, but the give away is behind that stern-ness, if she breaks into the slightly smile, my entire face lights up with a gigantic smile.
5. if there are others around, I will always avoid any deep eye contact or discussion with the woman I'm attracted to because I am fearful that my attraction to her is obvious to the entire world, so I'm a bit shy or embarrassed that I may show others the secret feelings I possess for her.

If you're both in the band why don't you ask him what to expect this year in the band, and can he help you with band stuff since you're new, based on his experiences from last year. Then let things develop.

hey i hope i can help... iv been in this situation a few times... well just kinda sneek it in to and every-day canversaition 4-instence "so who r u goin out with" or sumthin like that and if he sais i dont have one them be like "yea me nether" and just take it frome there and if he actes like he like u them flirt a little or sumthin and klinds show him that u like him. well i gotta run but i hope i helped in any way.. bye.
