Got the complete link just now. Thanks. I saw the pic. Jason Q was right about the Chinese letters. However, I doubt if the two characters are to mean one word. The pic could be only partial of the whole thing that has two or more rows of horizontal words in each row as there are thin lines between the two words. Usually if it is only one word we will not see thin lines like those in the pic. The upper character has a few meanings (both in Chinese and Japanese) 1. horizontal, 2. selfish, 3. accidental, 4. overflow. The bottom one means congratulate or blessing. IMHO, it is very likely that the picture did not show all the words, and if we could see the complete pic we could be reading something with the meaning of: congratulation on your overflowing success (and blah, blah, blah... in a very poetic form). But I cannot be sure since I couldn't see other letters. One more thing: if background color is red and the letter is gold then it is more likely that the piece is in the Chinese language, not the Japanese one.
I would like to hear more opinions. Thanks.

Hey there! There are altogether two Chinese characters on the picture. The upper one is "横" (heng 2 - the number here refers to the tone of Chinese pronunciation), and the other one is "ç¥" ï¼zhu 4ï¼. But in modern simplified Chinese there is no such an expression or phrase, I don't actually know the meaning. It might be derived from the ancient Chinese, kind of rhetoric.

The first word is heng［横］ãIt can mean:
1. horizontal/parallel (opposite of vertical or perpendicular).
2. harsh; unreasonable.
Both meanings are for the same words but for each meaning, the word has a different tone,though.
The 2nd word is zhu[ç¥].It means:
1. to express good wishes; wish.
The two words can't be put together....It doesn't make sense...
