I think I am falling for my karate instructor and I have a feeling he may have feelings for me too but I don't know how to move things on without making things awkward between us. I'm way too shy to make the first move and I've tried using eye contact and body language to let him know I'm attracted to him but I'm worried about overdoing it in case he's not interested and I come across as a desperate idiot! I have 2 kids and have been single for four years so it is a big step for me to admit to liking someone this much. It's driving me crazy - what should I do??

If you think he may have feelings for you too - you must have sensed something, maybe a certain way he looks at you. Concentrate on your lessons and when he talks to you look him directly in the eyes, you kind of get a feeling then as to whether or not he may be into you, if he starts smiling or holds your stare. Try to find out where he drinks, take your mates, put on a sexy outfit and strut your stuff girl!

Do some detective work and figure out how to 'run into' him outside of class so you can see how he reacts to you. This will help you gauge it.
Keep in mind that his role as an athletic instructor and protector makes him extremely attractive to women and that people hit on him all the time. He must somehow not discourage the people hitting on him from cancelling the class, so of course he's going to encourage attention in a nonspecific, noncommittal way.
Time for you to join some clubs and take some classes where men are part of the group so that you can relate to guys on a more straightforward level and therefore be able to read their signals a little more easily.

It maybe that he is also quite shy, just because he can chop a log in half does not necessarily mean the guy is confident with women,
Whats the worst that can happen if you ask him out,
1 - he says no then you move on -
2 - he says he is flattered but already seeing someone
or
3 - He says yes and you live a long and happy life chopping logs
with the kids
Go on - ask him !!

forget all the desperate stuff. You've got 2 kids so can't be that shy.
After 4 years are you willing to lose this chance? Go on, just ask him out for a drink. Where's the harm in that?
Remember it's 2006...... Equality is rife!

What if you asked for a few private lessons when you'r coming up to you'r next grading,
that would be a good excuse to ask him out for a drink just to pay him back for all his help.

Their idea of subtle is you take off your clothes, start kissing him all over then he may think I think she may fancy me.
So you have to ask him out...
