As a recovering alcoholic (16 years), I believe the saying is no one ever found Jesus at the bottom of a bottle. I know, I have been through it. No it does not mean Jesus was a drunk. He also had a brain, which is more than I can say for you.

No, it means THEY are a drunk.

If they literally found him at the bottom of a bottle I'd have to say one of the following things:

1) Man! that's a TINY Jesus!

2) Man! that Jesus sure has a loose ***!

It does not mean Jesus was drunk. Jesus was never drunk. I have heard that statement from people who used to be heavy alcoholics and it basically means they were in a bad situation and something happened to turn them around. That something is/was Jesus.

That means a lot of things. Found Jesus in a drunken stupor of delusions. Got in trouble and seen the light or error of your ways,etc...But most people mean that they hit bottom in life with drugs and alcohol and turned to the lord or Jesus for guidance to improve their lives.
