What I really have a dilemma with is this.
I split up with my ex about two years ago, his best friend, who I really got on with and who I "clicked" with broke contact.
I know his older sister, who is one of my bestest mates and I go to see her every week, but we all recently went on holiday together - him, his sister and her boyfriend, me and another couple. I hadn't seen him since me and my ex split and we talked for ages - and now I can't get him out of my head. He has no idea and neither does his sister. He told me that him and my ex don't see eachother as often anymore, and that my ex has got a new girlfriend, but i'd really like something to happen, but i'm just really scared incase it messes everything up, I wouldn't even know where to start. Ive asked him to go for a drink and he says we will soon - so plz help!

Take it slow but take the next step. Confide in him that all of this has been rough and that you are "trying to find your way" and that he seems to be a "bright spot" in all of this. Let him know (subtly) that you are interested but that you also don't want to "mess everything up." This should feed his ego and not scare him off.
In short, be honest, confide in him in an up-front way, and "go with the flow." It will all work out

You get on well with his sister so I would suggest that you should discuss this matter with her. You can find out whether or not she approves and, if she does, you have an ideally placed accomplice. If she does not approve then you are probably best not pursuing the matter.

I'd show him your question, the answers, and which one you chose as best. The worst that could happen? He says he doesn't want to see you again, which would mean it wouldn't be a big loss.

You can ask again, and if he's interested, he'll make time. Else, you may have grown in different directions and/or he may now be involved elsewhere. But, it's worth a shot!
