I have Sim City 3000 that I used to play on my old computer....but now when I try to re-install it on my new one, it says, "The System File is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows Applications."

This sucks....I used to love that game!

I am having a problem with my old computer games- many have seemed to stop running or will not load in. I m not using them on my new computer , I m trying to play them on my old computer with XP. Some give errors, one just has a black screen although task manager says it is running, others won t install any more. The only thing that has changed is the video card- it s a GE Force 5200. I think it was installed and I could still play the games but I m not 100%
sure of that. Any suggestions?

Solution:

Install the 'Sim City 3000 Building Architect Tool', which patches the actual game so that it runs under Windows XP.

I totally can relate to that.

Why don't you try finding the homepage of the name of the game and see if they can help you download the proper drivers that you need or maybe an update of the game to use on your operating system.

Hope that helps.

p.s. Just type "Sim City 3000" in the search line and you will get lots of pages to visit.

the error is caused by a missing file, you should have autoexec.nt in your system32 folder, you can either search on your pc for it and copy it to the system32 folder, or.....

there is a downloadable fix for this error:
