My two biggest regrets I had in highschool was 1, not getting more involved in activities, and 2, caring too much about what other people thought.

It's really easy to get caught up in trying to be popular, but I've learned that being confident in yourself will get you so much farther and people will like you. The real friends you get from being yourself are more memorable and worth your time even if there's only a few.

Always remember, no one can make you feel inferior unless you give them permission. It's so true! Also, don't be afraid to talk to people, cuz chances are they're just as scared as you are.

Another thing... boys... they're a waste of time and emotion. There are some good ones, but just be careful. It's much more worthwhile to wait and give them a chance to grow up and waiting until you really know what you want. Take this time to make friends with them and figure out how to understand them and deal with them--but PLEASE for your own sake don't ever feel pressured to date a guy cuz everyone else is dating. There's plenty of time.

Study hard and do your best, you'll be glad you did when you graduate.

Hope this didn't bore you. ;-) Good luck!

Yes Yes Yes!
I made this list from personal experience

1. People aren't always what they seem (those who you think you can trust, you can't.. those u least expect to be there are).
2. Friendships will be tested but you have two options;; 1. stay mad forever.. 2. qet over it, nd solve ur differences.. without ur friends who are you?
3. It shouldn't be about having a "crew", it should be about having true friends that you can trust and count on even it means only 2 or 3.
4. There is a difference between friend and associate. You will recognize this quickly.
5. People are always going to talk about you; take this as a compliment. As hard as it may be just remember, you have something that they are jealous of if they want to make you the center of attention.
6. If you're quiet, people will try to take advantage of you. Stand your guard and stick up for yourself.
7. When a friend lets you down, be the bigger person and use it as a lessoned learn;; think of it like damn, this is something I will never do to any of my friends.
8. Some people will be interested in your boyfriend/girlfriend. Handle it, but without the drama.
9. Never settle for less because if you do, your future will be exactly that, "less".
10. Even through the drama, tears, and fights you will learn that highschool is what made you who you are.

There is nothing at all to fear. It will be an adjustment but a small one. The best thing you can do for yourself is to take as many courses as you can handle the first year. That will pay off big time in your senior year.

Your question implies you are worried about what is ahead of you. Nothing to worry about. One day a time and study hard. This is a very important time in your life. Quite often a person whole life is determined by how serious they take high school. Very important.

Yes.........Highschool is not the real world......and if you can remember that and take it as lightly as it comes from people you will have to deal with, like certain clicks your not in or not being popular, not making the volleyball team etc.... REMEMBER the only thing you take with you from highschool is the education you recieved and HOPEFULLY some true and great friends to talk to, years later, that you can call on the phone and talk about the REAL WORLD! Like jobs... bills... kids... sick kids...bills more bills oh and a vacation you and your husband and kids took every once in awhile. Really good luck........just remember........4 years to have fun and get it out of your system because when you graduate your on your own BABY! The REAL WORLD BITES! I wish I was back in highschool and having fun........don't waste your time worrying about things and people you won't probably ever see after that 4 years is up.........just enjoy yourself and the good times you make with your friends!!

The guys in high school are totally different then middle school boys. They are all about sex and running the phone number game. So if they ask for you phone number, give it to them, but don't expect them to call you. I guess your a freshman right, guys are always looking for freshmen girls. I know I sound harsh, but thats how it is. Other than that high school will be fun. Hope you have a wonderful year.

first impression last for four years in high school. Dont try to hard to fit in. Feel out your surroundings and the people around you. Then be cautious to who you make friends with. Talk to the wrong person and you can have a reputation. Try not to gossip about people. You dont need enemies. stay in touch with the fashion trends. Try to re invent your style. Change your hair or style of dress often. different hairstyles and outfits for changing seasons. try to get involved with events involving your school and the teens that attend their like games, parties, movies etc.

Just take it one class, one day at a time until you feel comfortable. So, school will be like a family with some great people and some black sheep, but always interesting and a place filled with other people your age. What else could you ask for?

get ready for the 4 most hardest years of your childhood! high school is not only for children, its where children become young adults,,,your going to have so much pure pressure, sex, drugs, and to look as good as the rest your going to feel pressure to fit in and everything else.

So hun, if you have friends that came along with you from middle school then i would keep them friends close, and just do really go to pay attation in class, if not your going to be there for more then 4 yrs....
good luck

It will be a bit unnerving for a while but things will settle down.
Smile a lot and say hi to everyone. Ninth grade is a difficult year. It's normal to feel a bit apprehensive. Don't worry, in a couple of days you'll make new friends.
Good luck!
