A person with anemia will feel tired and weak because the body's tissues are being starved of oxygen. In fact, fatigue is the main symptom of most types of anemia. The severity of symptoms is in part related to the severity of anemia. Mild anemia can occur without symptoms and may be detected only during a medical exam that includes a blood test.

Symptoms:

# Fatigue

# Weakness

# Fainting

# Breathlessness

# Heart palpitations (rapid or irregular beating)

# Dizziness

# Headache

# Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)

# Difficulty sleeping

# Difficulty concentrating

Anemia Symptoms
Because a low red blood cell count decreases oxygen delivery to every tissue in the body, anemia causes many signs and symptoms. It makes almost any other underlying medical condition worse. For example, if you have an underlying heart problem and become anemic, you are more likely to have problems associated with your heart disease than you would have if you were not anemic.

How severe the anemia is will determine how severe the signs and symptoms will be.

Signs of anemia may include the following:

Black and tarry stools (sticky and foul smelling)

Maroon, or visibly bloody stools

Rapid heart rate

Rapid breathing

Pale or cold skin

Yellow skin called jaundice

Low blood pressure

Heart murmur

Enlargement of the spleen

Symptoms of anemia may include the following:

Fatigue

Trouble breathing

Chest pain

Abdominal pain

Weight loss

Weakness

Dizziness and passing out, especially upon standing

Pale skin is defo a symptom of anaemia. I have had it before, and remember being tired all the time, had no energy at all. No appetite, and was really pale. Felt cold a lot too but none of the other symptoms. If you're worried bite the bullet and have a blood test. If left long enough if it's severe you can die. I had a fear of needles but it only takes 30 seconds max and you don'y have to look. You don't feel a thing either. If you still cant do it ask your doc for some iron tablets, and see hoe you go. Try eating more meat, and liver is really good for this. If you don't eat veggies then try eating more green veg too as you may have low florites as well.

I just found out a little while ago I was anemic, and I never knew. But yes being tireddddd is a HUGE symptom. Always being tired even when you wake up, just not having tons of energy no matter what. Also, pale yes, but I can NEVER get tan on my face...so a pale face is always a good sign of anemia. Just go get a blood test, that's all they need to test for it. Hope all goes well....oh and also, a lot of kidney problem patients have anemia....

You get cold real easy, tire more easily, in general, your body just gets feeling run down.

Best if you can see a doctor if you think that you have it and get a blood test. 'Cause I guess most people know that anemia is from not having enough iron in your system. But, most of that iron that you get in the drug or grocery stores, it is hard to get it to absorb into your body. It's fairly expensive, so you don't want to go out and buy it just to take it and eliminate most of it without getting much benefit.

Your doctor can tell you what else to take with it, or I think you can get a shot (injection) also.

Hope that helped some?

Being dizzy or getting real light headed upon standing up, seeing little white spots that swim around before one's eyes, pale pallor to the skin, lethargy just to name a few. Actually, it is important to have a doctor tell you if you are anemic because a lot of very serious illnesses including heart problems could be your culprit. It could be very deadly if not properly diagnosed. Please see a doctor. Good luck.

Being more pale than the norm. Fatigue. Weakness. If you finger nails don't have a healthy reddish or pinkish tint under the nail, is a good sign also.

take a real gold ring and rub it on your face, if you have a black streak then you're anemic. Seriously, try it! It does it on my mom who's anemic but not me. Also, you may be feeling tired and "achy" all of the time.
