At your height and weight, you are heavier than the average teenager, but still at a healthy weight.

If you’re not exercising regularly, or if you’re not eating as well as you should, then that extra weight could be showing up as fat on your hips thunder thighs. In that case, there are two ways to give yourself a healthier body.

Work up to exercising 4-5 times a week, for 30 minutes. Walking, biking, swimming are all great, and cheap! If you aren’t active to start out, then that will start building some muscle, which helps burn calories 24 hours a day. Then you can pig out once in a while and not worry about it going on your hips!

Keep a food diary. When you start, don't worry about counting fat or calories, just notice how much and what you are eating. Start learning what foods are good and bad.

Just seeing it written down can be a surprise - you don't always notice how much you really eat when you eat it, but you sure notice when your stomach sticks out over your jeans. Watching what you eat helps you stay focused and eat healthier. If you are gaining weight or not seeing results after a month, start adding up every calorie, to find the best way for you to cut back your eating.

Honestly, I would consider you chubby
i'm two inches taller and at least 20 pounds lighter than you, start doing pilates if you want to tone your butt and thighs (i do yoga and pilates and watch what i eat). don't run, because that will simply replace fat with bulky muscle, which still isn't very attactive.

I am 5'2" and 130. I'm not fat, but I want to be skinnier also. I started doing yoga and I am firming up and feel better about myself. I'm not losing weight; it's getting re-distributed around my body. Important thing to remember: muscle weighs more than fat.

Being thick is good.
I'm 5'2 and I'd like to have it all in my thighs and my butt like when I was pregnant minus the stomach.

If you want to lose weight, it's up to you. You are not an unhealthy weight, but if you wanted to be more 'ideal', you could aim to lose maybe 5lb to 10lb. The most important thing is to exercise regularly. HTH.
