Right now you need your ID and Birth Certificate,
Starting January 1, 2007 you MUST have a passport to travel internationally.
So if you are planning your trip for after the new year apply for your passport now, or you wont be allowed in the US, or be able to go back home without it.
This is 100% TRUE information.
I have been in international travel for years!

I have a friend who is going to be traveling to Canada soon, He said that he is just taking his drivers license and his birth certificate.

Drivers license and birth certificate -- for now. Passport is even better, but soon I believe that will be required.
