In addition, you can also call around to preschools in the area you will be working in. Sometimes the state ed department just gives the minimum requirements (and it is sometimes difficult to understand) or their terminology is different than where you are from. I have found that calling and talking to a director of a site in the general area where you will want to work can be much easier. You can ask direct questions and get inside information that may be much more useful to you. You can also clarify the difference in terms and units vs. semester hours, etc. You can then also get an idea of the average pay rates.
