how do you keep insects from making your dog house their own?

I've heard that cedar bedding in the dog house will repel insects. I've never tried it, though.

I use the cockroach spray to spray at the insects. They will die immediately and new insects are scared of the smell for a while.

use a bug bom and keep the dog out for awhile then put bug repelent on the dog for a while
