A much easier and immensely more satisfying route to take would be to pick up one of those fairly cheap C02 powered pellet pistols. Every time you see the cat, plink it. Not only does this improve your marksmanship skills, but it also leaves the filthy little bastard alive so that you can shoot it again and again. Eventually even a cat will begin to understand it is not wanted in that area.

I believe it is illegal to poison your neighbor's cat.

Consider this carefully, please. Even if it wasn't illegal to poison your neighbor's cat, a small child could ingest the poison and you will be held responsible for the possible death of someones kid. That is definitely a crime and you'll do time if found guilty.

Be smart. Tell your neighbor you want a poo-free yard and ask for their cooperation. Use a humane no-kill trap if the cat continues to poo in your yard. Then bring the caged pet back to your neighbor and ask them again. I think you'll have better luck after that.

Legally, no, you don't have the right to set out poison.

HOWEVER --

It is a pet owner's reponsibility to keep their pets confined to their own property. It is never acceptable to allow pets to run loose, and yes that does include cats.

Tell your neighbor to clean up the poo. You don't have to put up with the stink or the flies. If your neighbor refuses to take care of the problem then sue.

Why would you want to kill an animal? I poop, you poop, cats poop, dogs poop. I understand you are upset, but its an animal how the hell is it supposed to know better. try talking to your neighbor, or using something to deter the cat. while you are within your right to sprinkle poison on your yard, killing the cat is animal cruelty. in some states animal cruelty is a felony, so just think about that before you do something stupid.

Its usually against the law (think fine and / or jail), and ALWAYS cruel and wrong.

This DOES work - sprinkle mothballs around the perimeter of your yard. Cats don't like the smell. I work for a 500+ unit apt. community and we use that when cats wander where they're not wanted. Mothballs can be bought at a grocery or home supply store for very few $$$'s.

difficult project! My cat possibly makes use of the neighbours backyard too - 10 years nd we nonetheless do no longer understand for particular! even with hat she never roams some distance! - however the neighbours do no longer suggestions if it fairly is occurring. Cats pooping in neighbour yards is without doubt one among the premier lawsuits of persons against outdoors cat (besides them fearing for their protection)... i could take this heavily, yet in asserting that the only element i'm able to propose to guard your cats is to maintain them indoor n only enable them outdoors on a leash. There are long leashes that got here be offered... yet it is going without asserting that they had would desire to be supervised on a leash to be sure they are not getting tangled or trapped or choked to death finally... there is not any thank you to end a cat from stepping into this neighbours backyard, however you're able to propose to them to go away out citrus the place the cats bypass, they do no longer only like the heady scent, possibly this would not artwork besides the shown fact that it fairly is an thought. The neighbour in all probability does no longer prefer to out any attempt in on their section however.

WHY would you want to put out poison??? That would kill the cat, can you live with that on your conscience for the rest of your life? Why not talk to the owner, and if that doesn't work, take her to court...I would think putting poison out when you KNOW there are domestic animals in the area would be illegal.

You can try putting out natural deterents - like cayenne pepper or other organic products. Have you tried chatting with your neighbor and telling that person you would rather NOT have to pick up their pet's excrement? Perhaps that will help more than you know - some people just don't take charge when it comes to their animals. Good luck!

Why don't yu just woman up and tell your neighbors what is going on with their cat and let them handle it. If not, caotact the animal control and they will puck the cat up and the neighbors will have to pay to get the cat back. Putting poison down for the ct to ingest is just wrong and I think that anyone that abuses an animal should be strung up by their neck and shot slowly.

There are products sold in pet stores that you can put on your lawn that cats don't like. You would be morally a monster if you poison an innocent animal., so get that product and say good-by to smelly cat dung,
