Well anyway i got a kitty like a month or so ago and my 13 year old british shorthair With a tortoishell coat and she acts like she is the mother even though she did not give birth to her.I mean she grooms her, she follows her around,the kitten follows tess around.And they sleep together they play togther.Does she think shes a mother.Well anyway tess seems to be happy now :)

Hi Chris...this is normal. They are exceptionally bonded to one another and that's wonderful. Some cats will just tolerate each other, but not sleep, groom together.

That is VERY normal. I have 2 kittens and the slightly older is that way to the younger one, but they do not sleep together all the time. They each groom each other, too.

This is quite normal. Older cats will take to the younger ones, especially if they are little kitties. Don't worry, this is okay. Be happy that they are getting along.

I don't know if she thinks she's the mother, but be happy that she is taking good care of the kitten. It sounds like a good match. Good luck with them.
