There have been more empirically based studies supporting the use of Splenda over aspartame. With excessive amounts come risks of toxicity. What that means exactly hasn't been completely worked out by the medical community.

A nice alternative is a herb called Stieva. It contains no calories, is derived from the leaves of the Steiva plant, has been around since the 1800's, the body adversely metabolize the substance, and is therefore, safe. It is, however, a little bitter tasting. Try a natural food store.

Aspartame gives me a headache, Splenda does not. Splenda Coke tastes less bitter. Diet Coke with Splenda is a good product, but addictive just like Diet Coke with aspartame.

Splenda is supposed to be made from sugar, aspartame is chemically created. I like splenda and equal the same. What i hate (and I don't know WHY anyone would use it) is sweet-n-low - it takes horrible! Unless your a diabetic or are trying a low carb diet, just use a little regular sugar.

I like Splenda. No problems to report. And I use it a lot. 4 to 5 packets in my tea and about 4 in my coffee.

Aspartame makes me sick as a dog. I get all dizzy and nauseated. I can't eat or drink anything with aspartame or any sugar substitute. But that's just me.

Personally I don't use any diet drinks or drink soda.
My advice to you is to use honey to sweeten or real sugar. You can also go to the health food store and buy unprocessed sugar. Its not white refined sugar but natural sugar.I hoped I helped hunni.
God Bless

You would need to eat a ton or drink a lot of diet pop for it to be bad for your system. Like 40 cans of diet pop a day. There are far many more things that can kill you so I wouldn't worry about it.

America is the only place where people are disfigured in the butt and hips area. The aspartame is stored there. Good? Don't think so.
