Why does it cost so much to go to the dentist now days. I tried to have Porcelain Veneers put on my teeth and was told it cost $900.00 per teeth. I have 24 teeth in my month how the hell am I suppose to pay for them. ps. I had my wisdom teeth pulled.

Veneers is usually done purely for cosmetics. It is just like getting breast implants or a face lift. You have to really want this kind of cosmetic dentistry to shell out big bucks, but would you really want to get "cheap" veneers and have everyone you meet see what a horrible job was done. And most likely you would not be doing all 24 teeth. Most of the time veneers are done on the front 6-8 teeth on top, bottom, or sometimes both, but molars would not get veneers, maybe full porcelain crowns, but not veneers. My office charges $950.00 a veneer, so you got a little bit lower quote.
As far as why does it cost so much to go to the dentist nowadays? Well you should see how much I spend a month in dental supplies, not to mention lab bills, average dental assistant salary between $32,000.00-$42,000.00 a year, and so on and so on.
Veneers are cosmetic in most cases. You need to think about if this is something you really want. When a woman makes a decision to get a tummy tuck, boob job, liposuction, and face lift, she knows that it is cosmetic and will therefore cost alot.

You have to go to college for 10 years to be a dentist. Then when you become one you have to perform major surgery eight or more hours every day. Your patients are not having a good time, so naturally, neither are you. Your only compensation for this is to charge a lot of money. There you have it.
