There's a Trappist monastery in Kentucky - Gethsemani, I think, is the name. Thomas Merton is buried there.

Start by talking to a parish priest and see what recommendations he can give you. There are a number of religious orders listed here on the internet also so if you don't want to go talk to a priest, check out the internet and find one that seems to suit your needs and then go to visit and check it out. You first need to pray and discern what God is calling you to do and that can best be done during Eucharistic Adoration.
