Go to the pet store and buy a grooming brush for cats and dogs. You need to brush him at least three times weekly to keep the furr from knotting up. Otherwise, you will have to take him to the vet and get the knots cut out and that can be painful for the cat, so don't put him through that if you can groom him regularly. There is no excuse for a pet owner not grooming their pet. They rely on us for their primary care, and when we drop the ball then they get neglected.

A brush. Long haired cats never existed until humans came along and thought it would make a nice toy for them to look at. The can cannot deal with the stupid amount of fur it has been burdened with so it is your job to put in some work to help it. Brush the cat.

Go to a petshop and buy a suitable grooming brush. I'd check with a vet on how often you should do it but maybe gently brush your cat once a day, when it's relaxed on your knee but don't run around after it because it will become fearful of you when you have that brush in your hand! Gently is the key. If if has knots already then you will need to maybe go to a pet groomer so they can cut them out professionally and safely.

Get a spray bottle and fill it with water and a little hair conditioner. Spray your cat's fur with this mixture before brushing and the tangles should come out a little easier. You need to do this regularly or else it will become impossible and you will need to cut the fur.

First cut the knots of hair with small scissors and discard. Then get a special brush for cats and keep brushing often and before the formation of new balls of hair. If your cat get balls of hair in his stomach and vomit there is a special product that he can swallow to dissolve the hairs in his stomach. Ask your Veterinary.

Yes, brush him daily. Do it at the same time each day, and gently brush his whiskers last. They love that and it serves as a reward. Don't use those wire brushes with closely spaced teeth, all they do is pull the fur out and the cat hates it. I started my cat out by brushing him when he was asleep, so that he was relaxed.

Cats shed as do dogs. Your best bet is to get an animal brush for your pet, and brush them several times per day! This should help! You may have to clip the problem areas

You need to brush him every day if possble to prevent the knots from forming - prevention is better than cure - as they say!
If he has some difficult knots, then you might need to take him to a vet or a pet groomer to have them cut out.
You could also get advice from the experts - contact the Cat Protection League - they might be able to give advice.

Usually, that is too long for me. I consider it depends on the guy as well as his face though. Certain guys may pull off long hair and other folks can't.
