Came I believe from Argentina....in one of the most amazing fights I ever saw he knocked out Ken Norton who was 16-0 at the time with something like 16 knockouts.....Garcia was outweighed close to 50 pounds and ended giving Norton one of the worst beatings ever......anyone know what happened to him?

Actually he was from Venezuela, when he KOd Norton he weighed 188lbs to Norton's 207 (19lb difference). He was the first "ranked" heavyweight for Norton, OOPS!! Garcia was tall and lanky for a heavyweight, exceptional hand speed for a big man, along with deceptive power. Dropped Norton in the first round, stopped Ken in the 8th. Ken blamed it on poor conditioning. Five years later Norton stopped Garcia in the 5th round of their rematch. Garcia never fought for the heavyweight title. Today he just likes to go fishing with his grand-kids. Advocate for the development of an organization to help retired fighters.

I don't know what happened to him but he was a contender in the 70's and a pretty good fighter. Yeah he gave Norton his first pro loss and I believe he also fought George Foreman and some other good fighters of that era.
