Because of the media. And their parents force responsibility upon them, making them to want the priviliges that adults have.

I believe our society doesn't really allow kids to be kids anymore! When I was a kid in the 60's and 70's, we were encouraged to go out and play and be kids!

Today, because of all the tragedies concerning kids and molesters and murderers, a lot of parents keep their children indoors, where they are subject to whatever they see on TV or on the internet. Clothing marketed to young girls is more and more provocative. It's no wonder our kids are confused!

There comes a point in everyone's life (usually around 12 or 13)when you are too old for the things you used to do and you're too young to do other things (like drive, date, etc.). It's an awkward time of life.

From a grown-up's perspective, enjoy your youth while you have it! When you are an adult, you have a lot of responsibilities that you'll wish you didn't have!

Well as we reach each stage of existence.. While we are young the opportunities seem to weight more on age to have any fun.. but as we hit 25 we learn so much and by then we are trying to hold back father time.. I remember being 10 and wanting to be 18- yet when I reached that age.. I wanted 21. Guess we are by nature always wanting more from life and what it has to give us.. I can tell you though the older I get .. the more I realize.. I still feel like a teenager at heart. Wish my body knew this.. lol

1. They want 'stuff' (but don't want to *earn* it)
2. They want privliges that adults have (but don't want the responsibility that goes with them)
3. They want money (but don't want to work for it)

I think the media is so horrible. They portray stuff and things as status symbols. It's very easy to fall into that trap of having to have a Louis Vuitton or Coach. And, having to have the newest True Religion jeans...

Once you grow up you realize those things don't mean anything. And, discover you have a house full of 'stuff' instead of catching the real meaning to life...you get short changed in the end.

Bad parenting. Too many single moms. They can't take care of their kids properly. Little girls grow up too fast and become single moms and the cycle starts all over again.

Well, I'm 24 now, and I can remember my teen years like it was just yesterday. I remember feeling like I was capable of everything any adult could do. I wanted my freedom most of all. Many teenagers do not realize what it is really like to grow up and actually act like an adult. All they can think of is being able to do what they want when they want with no one telling them what they can and can't do. They don't think about how hard it is to make it on your own. They don't think about the sacrifices you have to make to be able to do what you want when you want. They just plane and simple can not grasp the concept of how hard an adult has to work to keep their lives afloat.

Outside influences. Look at the clothes they make for little girls now. Kids start using drugs earlier and having sex sooner. I don't think it's necessarily TV or music, but that does play a part.

As a 12 yr. old child I have your anwser. You might think we don't want responsibiltities but we do. We want a base, something to stand on. And everybody pushes us around anyway. Also, older people get more privilages. Just draw a line and let it go. Now if it gets past that line, you can say something.

I dont think kids are in a rush to grow up. i think its just wanting to do grown up things. Doing what you want, not being told wat to do, staying out as late as you want, we want all those things with having to get old and having to pay taxes or bills or stuff like that.
