Will my hair be way overprocessed and damaged? Will it break off?

2006-08-21 10:51:59 · 6 answers · asked by Anonymous in Beauty & Style Hair

I'm planning to go to a dark brown or black (from a reddish brown) and it has been a LONG time since I first colored it...it was the beginning of May when it was colored. After coloring, I plan to put in a weave, I just need the fake hair and my hair to be the same color...does that make it any better?

Yes it will be over processed and damaged and it may break off. Try a semi permanent rinse first. Good Luck!!!!

It will dry it out, all permanent color has ammonia in it, an is very damaging to your hair. ESPECIALLY if its been relaxed.
Try using a semi/demi permanent. they are so much gentler on your hair, and can be done more often, and usually look more natural.....and shiny!

the only real drawback is that you have to stay with your current shade, or go darker, you cant go lighter with a semi permanent.

If you dont take care of it. Keep moisture to your hair. Dont use chemicals that often. Wrap your hair up nightly. Stay away from heat type appliances. Keep it washed and well conditioned. Color only the new growth and relax the new growth only. That's how I do it.

it´ll probably get really damaged, but if you try a dark color, it wont get as damaged...anything you do try a treatment for color treated hair afterwards plus a hair cut will get rid of the break offs
