Seriously, they cannot force me to do anything and the test scores do not affect our grades in anyway. Is there any reason I can't just refuse to take them? Just so you know I live in Idaho, I'm going into my freshman year and plan to keep my grades up otherwise. The tests I will be taking are the ISATs or Idaho Standardized Achievement Tests. The take valuable time out of our school year and do not affect our grade. Do you see any reason why I cannot just say, "no"?

I plan on writing an essay explaining my direct reason for not taking the test. I am trying to prove a point and plan on doing all I can to do so. As for collages that will look at that, if they don't accept that I refused to take a test that was interfering with my education then I don't want to be going there anyway.

My father is willing to back me up on this 100%. I cannot get anyone to do it with me because that is a conspiracy so I am on my own here. I am willing to take a few detentions and spend some time in a room staring at a computer screen to prove my point. I fully believe this is worth it.

That test probably affects how much funding your school will recieve under the No Child Left Behind Act, so by not taking it, you can affect how well the school scores and how much funding they will get. Depending on how small your school is, the absense of one student's test scores can make the whole school fail.

At this element it is your be conscious against the processing officer's be conscious. you probably did no longer provide any indication (by skill of your tale) which you will possibly acquiesce or merchandise to a urinalysis. because of the fact you probably did no longer communicate up the two way, what do you think of the officer might desire to have completed? provide you a pattern cup after which you declare that your rights have been violated in a protracted time? The officer did his/her job, you indicated in neither direction so it became into assumed objection as a manner to evade a ability declare of a rights violation. you may attempt to combat it, yet as I reported it is your be conscious against that of the officer's and you easily admit you probably did no longer point out one way or yet another.

although you have rights you are in their school system and have to follow their rules. I think standardized tests are a waste of time and energy but when you are in a public school system you don't have many choices. I'm curious as to what would happen if you say no though. This would be a good time to have a family friend who is a lawyer.. Good Luck.

It is not an option. You can't refuse to take the test. You could be absent when it is given and when the makeup is given, but you can't refuse.
It might affect you later on if you try to go to college.

I would want to know what the scores are used for. If they are used for placement decisions, you may wish to take them. They may also be mandated by law. I would ask your school counselor this question. "What are the ramifications of me not taking the ISAT; and can I have the opiton of not taking them?"

you may be surprised at what they can force you to do. at very least, they can keep you back in your current grade, until you take 'em. later, colleges won't accept you, without having taken them. your parents might beat you (mine would). but, hey, give it a shot, if you like. they don't affect your grades, but they do affect your dreaded, "permanent record" (and, in this case, they really do).
